Through the benefits of a cooperation agreement with University College London (UCL), our full-time students can access hundreds of UCL Societies and UCL’s vibrant student life.
Clubs & Societies
Joining a club or society is one of the best possible ways to get more out of your time at UCL. Driven by drama, sport, art, or politics? UCL has got all sorts of ways to discover something that will become a part of who you are.
At the beginning of the academic year, UCL organises a Welcome Fair where you can meet the existing members of the societies. Most clubs and societies meet at least once a week for training, rehearsals or their regular meeting, but they all set their own times.
UCL Facilities
In addition to the UCL student societies, our full-time students also have access to numerous UCL facilities, including:
- UCL libraries
- UCL sport activities and facilities
- UCL virtual learning environment resources
Second Foreign Language
Thanks to our partnership with University College of London (UCL), our students enrolled in the Bachelor's in Economics and Management may choose from 9 language courses: Arabic, Dutch, French (for non-native speakers exclusively), German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese or Spanish.
Student level is assessed at the start of the academic year by the UCL Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE), and complete beginners are accepted.
The UCL Centre for Languages & International Education is a centre of excellence for teaching and learning, specialising in academic communication, pedagogy and student support from pre-degree up to doctoral level across all UCL faculties. It first opened in 1991 as the UCL Language Centre, delivering English for Academic Purposes (EAP), credit-bearing Modern Foreign Language (MFL) modules and evening language courses.
Its name was formally changed in 2009 to reflect the wider teaching remit and role of enabling international students to access UCL degree programmes.
Courses are available for up to 7 different levels of proficiency, and teaching includes on-campus classes, language labs, and online self-evaluation exercises.
