Bachelor’s in Economics and Management
A Unique Pedagogical Project

The Bachelor’s in Economics and Management is a unique three-year degree, offering an interdisciplinary and all-round education to give our students a competitive start in the job market.

We combine the educational excellence of Dauphine – PSL with the very best of a the British higher education methods, inter alia through our partnership with University College London (UCL).

The curriculum is intentionally broad to teach our students the fundamentals in five core subject areas: economics, management, quantitative disciplines, law and social sciences. In Year 3, we offer students the opportunity to specialise in Management. This approach not only gives our students time to define their ambitions for their post-Bachelor career, but it also ensures that they are all equipped with the interdisciplinary skillset needed to excel in the dynamic job market and to solve the unique challenges of the 21^st century.

Studying in a multicultural environment, our students benefit from the pedagogic excellence of an international academic team; many of our lecturers have studied and worked at some of the world’s best universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Ivy League, UCL, LSE, PSL, and others.

The focus on languages is important, as one of our goals is to ensure that students acquire trilingual professional proficiency by the end of the programme: 

• The target for our students who are non-native English speaker is to reach at least C1 level in English by the end of their second year. Our lecturers in English offer classes in small groups of maximum 15 students at different level, from B2 to C2, and individually follow student progress throughout the academic year. They schedule additional workshops and “English Clinic” to ensure that our students receive the individual guidance and support they need to develop their English skills in line with the programme aims.
   
• The study of a second foreign language is compulsory, Foreign language tuition is offered in-house or at UCL. On our campus we offer the following languages: Spanish, French and German. Thanks to our partnership with University College of London (UCL), our students may also choose from 9 foreign language courses: Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese or Spanish. The student's level is assessed at the start of the academic year by the UCL Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE), and complete beginners are accepted.
  Our goal is to enable each student to progress by at least 2 levels in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) scale.
   
• The study of a third foreign language is possible in year 2.

We recognise that education is about much more than academic study; it is also about acquiring key skills that help students succeed in the outside world such as Leadership, Communications and Emotional Intelligence. We are preparing our students for a vibrant international career, giving them both the academic, professional, and personal skills to succeed whatever role they wish to pursue and wherever in the world they wish to go.

We take pride in guiding our students through their studies and beyond with our distinct professional guidance and coaching, which include:

• Individual support with the unique Soft Skills and Employability module offered in all three years of the programme.
• The opportunity to demonstrate professional experience in Years 2 and 3 as part of the degree.
• A mentoring scheme and personalised guidance from our educational coaches to help students secure internships.
• Regular collective and individual sessions to help students reflect on their personal and professional progress.
• Privileged and constant exposure to the professional world with lecturers being distinguished professional themselves and regular networking events with successful Alumni.

We put our students’ personal development and welfare at the heart of our educational mission. The small size of our campus and our close-knit community allow us to provide caring and individualised support to each and every student.

We wear our French influence on our sleeve, with rigorous coursework and a significant amount of contacts hours – indeed, we offer roughly twice the amount of contact of most UK universities.

Classes are taught in small groups of 20 to 30 students. This helps our lecturers to know students by name, to establish an individual professional relationship with each student and to identify their individual strengths and weaknesses. Regular student follow-up meetings are held to discuss and support student progress on a one-to-one basis.

Our degree programme is about much more than gaining a certificate. We value the student experience and we do our very best to make this very special time in our students’ life as fullfilling, memorable and enriching as possible. 

We aim to offer a vibrant campus life, consisting of:

• Frequent events and activities, either reserved for our students, or open to our alumni community in the UK.
• The support of the Dauphine London Student Union (DLSU), run by the students for the students.
• The opportunity for all to join our dynamic and diverse Dauphine and/or UCL Student Societies*.
• Throughout the academic year, our Student Life Committee organises a range of extracurricular activities and outings to enrich the student experience and encourage students to take advantage of all that London has to offer.
