Climate Fresk Workshop:Raising Climate Awareness at the London Campus
The Climate Fresk is an engaging, interactive session designed to promote climate awareness and inspire action. Developed as a hands-on learning experience, the Climate Fresk workshop uses a collaborative card game format based on the latest IPCC reports. It breaks down complex climate science into accessible parts, encouraging students to work together in visualising the causes, impacts, and actions we can take related to climate change.
The workshop’s collaborative nature enables students to approach climate science critically, embracing a systems-based perspective on sustainability.
Through teamwork and problem-solving, participants actively reflect on their own roles in addressing climate issues. With over 1.8 million people having taken part in a Climate Fresk worldwide – from schools to universities and corporate environments – it has become a globally recognised tool for fostering climate literacy. Dauphine PSL’s inclusion of this workshop as part of the curriculum underscores the university’s commitment to preparing students to confront the ecological challenges of today and tomorrow.
A core complement to the mandatory course “Ecological Challenges for the 21st Century,” the Climate Fresk workshop bridges theoretical understanding with action-oriented learning. As students dive deeper into sustainability and climate topics, they gain not only knowledge but also practical insight into becoming effective change-makers.
This year, Dauphine PSL’s Welcome Week also included the Climate Pitch conference, another interactive approach aimed at enhancing climate literacy and inspiring students towards meaningful action. By offering these activities, Dauphine PSL is shaping future leaders who are equipped to advocate for and implement sustainable practices, reinforcing the principle that “there is no business on a dead planet.”
The Climate Fresk is a step in Dauphine’s wider vision to empower the next generation with the knowledge and tools needed to drive sustainable change – a vision shared by educational institutions worldwide. We look forward to seeing the positive impact our students will make, both at Dauphine PSL and beyond, as they continue their journey in climate-conscious education and leadership.
